Vicissitude Privacy Policy

Vicissitude is operated by No Budget International. This Privacy Policy explains what information Vicissitude collects, why it is used, and how users can contact us about privacy questions.
Information We Collect
Vicissitude may collect and store information needed to provide the app's features, including:
- Account information such as your chosen username and authentication credentials.
- App-generated account identifiers used to associate your bottle activity with your account.
- Messages you place in bottles and replies sent through the app.
- Bottle journey information such as launch area, journey status, distance traveled, and bottle history.
- Purchase-related transaction information received from Apple to verify Monthly Bottle purchases. Vicissitude does not receive your full payment-card information from Apple.
- Basic technical and server information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the service.
How We Use Information
We use information only as needed to operate Vicissitude, authenticate users, provide bottle journeys and replies, verify purchases, maintain bottle history, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability.
Messages and Bottle Content
Messages placed in bottles are intended to be discoverable by other Vicissitude users through the app's bottle-finding experience. Do not place sensitive personal information in a bottle message that you would not want another user to read.
Purchases
Monthly Bottle purchases are processed through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment processing. Vicissitude receives transaction information needed to verify the purchase and grant the corresponding bottle entitlement.
Data Sharing
Vicissitude does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers used to operate the app, such as hosting and infrastructure providers, only as necessary to provide the service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect the security, rights, or safety of users or the service.
Data Retention
Account and bottle-history information may be retained for as long as needed to provide Vicissitude's account and journey-history features, maintain service integrity, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
Children
Vicissitude is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable technical and operational measures to protect information. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
